We are an established company in the Dulles, VA area seeking Payroll Tax Accountant with a minimum of 3+ years experience to manage the tax administration of multiple companies’ payroll taxes in all 50 states. The responsibilities and requirements are as follows:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

• Process timely payment of federal, state and local withholding taxes for multiple companies
• Process timely payment of quarterly FUTA and SUTA tax returns
• Process timely filing of informational reports required by federal and state agencies.
• Filing of withholding and unemployment registrations
• Respond to inquiries from Federal, State and Local tax authorities concerning tax and filing issues
• Respond to clients concerning payroll tax report issues
• Resolve tax and wage variances
• Amend and file 940 and 941 tax forms
• Process timely payment of federal, state and local withholding taxes for multiple companies.
• Establish and maintain online tax filing accounts as needed
• Prepare and file annual payroll returns, i.e. filing  W-2’s with the IRS, state and local tax agencies, annual reconciliations
• Prepare and file 1099’s & 1096’s
• Participate in special projects and assignments and performs other duties that may be assigned
  

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• 3-5 years of payroll tax accounting experience in a high volume national payroll environment
• Proven experience working with government and state agencies
• Capable of meeting tax processing and payment schedules and deadlines
• Must be able to interact professionally with all clients and tax agencies
• Accounting Degree preferred
• Must have good Excel and Word skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Detail and number oriented
