The Washington Metropolitan Area Chapter (WMAC-APA) is the local chapter of the American Payroll Association located in our Nation's Capitol.

Our meetings are held at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church, Virginia.

  Benefits of Membership in WMAC-APA

	Meetings and Seminars The WMAC-APA holds meetings every other month (generally on Thursday) and presents a speaker on subjects impacting the payroll profession such as current and future legislation, technology, compensation and fringe benefits.  Speakers include representatives from government agencies in addition to subject matter experts.  In the past, the chapter has also sponsored a Tri-State Conference.  Currently, in place of the Tri-State Conference, we have partnered with the Virginia Statewide Payroll Conference.   Chapter meetings include lunch and the meeting fee is $40.00 for chapter members and $50.00 for non-members.
	Networking Membership in the WMAC-APA and attendance of the chapter meetings is a great way to meet other payroll professionals in the area, discuss common concerns, and share information and past experiences.
	CPP/FPC Study Group For members who are planning to take the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) exam, we offer a study group facilitated by members, who are Certified Payroll Professionals, to assist in preparing for the exam.
	Newsletter Our chapter publishes a newsletter every other month that contains important information on legislative updates, as well as articles and other information of interest to local members.
	National Payroll Week (NPW) As a joint effort with APA, the local chapter is active in recognizing all payroll professionals for the vital role they play in maintaining the smooth functioning of the payroll tax withholding system and for working effectively with federal, state and local tax officials.

Annual Dues

Anyone interested in joining their fellow payroll professionals in the Washington Metropolitan Area can become a member of the Washington Metropolitan Area Chapter of the American Payroll Association for only $70.00 per year.
