Payroll and Year-End Best Practices

- Have you ever experienced a payroll mishap – how do you recover?
- Are you ready for year-end - do you have a checklist ready?

Come join us on December 18 to discuss payroll and year-end best practices.  Lori Brown will discuss some payroll mishaps and how to recover from them with best practices and lessons learned shared.  In addition, Lori will review some important highlights for 2014 year-end processing and some best practices she has gained over the years processing W2s.  This discussion will help guide participants through the daily obstacles we face as payroll professionals and how to overcome them with success.

Wreaths Across America's mission is to Remember, Honor, Teach.  The mission is carried out in part by coordinating wreath laying ceremonies on a specified Saturday in December at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond. They also organize a week of events including international veteran’s tributes, ceremonies at State Houses and a week-long “Veteran’s Parade” between Maine and Virginia where they stop along the way to spread Their message about the importance of remembering our fallen heroes, honoring those who serve, and teaching our children about the sacrifices made by veterans and their families to preserve our freedoms.

Annually, the WMAC supports this organization by assisting in the wreath laying ceremony held at Arlington National Cemetery.  Below is a briefing of the day.  WMAC will send out where we are meeting and the time.

Join us at the McClellan Arch located on McClellan Drive between Sections 33 and 12 on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. for the Opening Ceremony.  The public will be allowed entry to the cemetery at 8:00 a.m.  The ceremony will provide some introductory remarks and a short briefing to provide basic information to volunteers. After the ceremony, volunteers will move to the trucks located throughout the cemetery where they will participate in the laying of wreaths on headstones beginning at 10:00 a.m. We want to remind you that when you place the wreath, you may be the first person to visit that particular grave in years, so we hope you will take time to read the stone and honor the memory of that hero.  Our theme for this year is “Remember, Honor and Teach – Don’t Say I Should Have, Say I Did.”
